Introduction

Ud. ha aceptado el puesto de director del Nuevo Museo de Pintura Española en su ciudad. En este momento, el museo es tan nuevo que no tiene ninguna obra artística. Ud. tiene que hallar varias pinturas representativas de los artistas españoles más importantes para su museo.

Task

Ud. va a crear una presentación en “Powerpoint” que presenta una obra de seis pintores españoles. Ud. quiere convencer a los otros oficiales del museo que estas obras son representativas del estilo de cada pintor.

Process

1. Examine las colecciones de pinturas españolas.Vea: http://museoprado.mcu.es/prado/html/ihome.html, http://www.mcu.es/prado/villanueva/19_eng.html y http://www.spanisharts.com/reinasofia/reinasofia.htm .

2. Escoja seis artistas españoles (artistas que nacieron en España o trabajaba mucho en España) que Ud. considera los más importantes. Ud. tiene que defender su decisión. (28.C.2a) (29.B.2a)

3. Busque el vocabulario artístico siguiente: aerial perspective, baroque, composition (composición), cubism (cubismo), linear, mannerism, painterly, palette (paleta), rococo, school, subject (tema), style (estilo), surrealism, tapestry cartoon, tenebrism (tenebrismo), tonality. http://www.artlex.com/

4. Usando el Internet, busque informes de las características (paleta, composición, tema etc.) del estilo de los seis artistas. Preste atención a lo especial y lo típico de cada artista. 5. Busque varias obras de cada pintor.

6. Escoja una obra de cada pintor que muestra bien el estilo típico de ese pintor.

7. Haga una presentación en Powerpoint. Necesita crear al menos siete diapositivas--una para el título y una para cada artista. Cada diapositiva tiene que incluir una pintura y una descripción (en español) de la paleta, la composicion, el tema, el estilo general y cualquiera otra cosa que distingue la obra de este pintor. Sea creativo—use colores, fondo y estilo de letras que mejoran su presentación. (28.D.2a) (28.D.3b)

8. Preséntesela oralmente a los otros oficiales del museo (la clase). Ellos van a votar para aceptar o no aceptar cada pintura. (28.B.2b) (28.B.5a)

This activity is to be used with fourth year Spanish students. The students will need to have the knowledge to use the Internet and Powerpoint.
