Imagine yourself as an Olympian! You will investigate the life of a 2000 Olympian and create a poster displaying your information. Next, you will make a poster displaying how you can be the next 2004 Olympian. |

Step 1: Click here Select a 2000 Olympian you would like to check out.(State goal 2.B.1a) Step 2: Click here Find personal information on how they developed their sport and and display on a poste using pictures, charts, graphs, or written information.(State goal 2.B.1a, State Goal 10.B.1b) Step 3: On another poster display you as an Olympian and your personal information with pictures, charts, graphs, or written information.(State Goal 10.B.1b State Goal 2.B.1a) Step 4: Display on your poster how you would like your results to be as a 2004 Olympian.(State Goal 3.C.1b) Step 5: Share posters with class and compare the athlete with yourself.(State Goal 4.B.1b)

1. In addition to information on the web, you will need to gather information from the school library on different people in the 2000 or 2002 Olympics. From this selection you might introduce the unit by reading one of these books to the students. 2. You might put together a sample poster. 3. You might want to have access to a camera that the students might take pictures of themselves for their personal poster. 4. Depending on the reading level of your students, you might have to assist the students when using the websites. 5. The students may pair up to assist each other if needed. 6. This lesson may take 1-2 weeks. |
